Summer Events in Boston start in June

In Boston, Student Travel and Activities

TALK Boston students are never without things to do in this lively city, but June 2017 kicks off summer in the city with a whole crop of start-of-summer events as Bostonians come out to celebrate the season. The city of Boston is the scene of plenty of fun activities, big events, concerts, shows, and local fairs and festivals.

Boston Greek Fest, Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl, Dragon Boat Festival, Boston Harbor Cruise…these are just a few of the summer events, activities, parades and fun that Bostonians enjoy each June.

Many Boston summer events move outdoors

TALK Boston always makes certain that their students are in on all the events and that this city has to offer – these are just a few of June’s events which are on offer:

The 2017 Arlington Greek Festival is at the beginning of June and is one of Arlington’s largest cultural events which draws thousands of people from all over the country. This year’s event is expected to be attended by 15,000 visitors of all ages from the New England area and around the country.  The festival is famous for its great authentic Greek food.

The Boston – Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival takes place every June and the Charles River becomes a picture of boats with dragon heads and tails, streamers and lanterns. Drumming and dancing, yo-yo and musical performances line the River, making this one of the many Chinese cultural events in Boston. This Boat Festival is the biggest dragon boat race in the U.S. and the longest-running festival of its kind in the USA.
