TALK English Schools – Miami in the Heart of Brickell

 In College Life

The TALK English Schools – Miami opened in 2009 in the beautiful PNB building on Brickell Avenue, Miami, characterized by its impressive skyline of ultra-modern high-rise commercial, hotel and residential towers. Brickell Avenue is the epicenter for international banking and trade between the USA and Latin America. Its fashionable cafes, restaurants and boutiques are filled with international jetsetters, movie stars and business professionals.

Like it surrounds, TALK Miami has a great  modern look and feel, with 7 large and bright classrooms, an attractive reception area and an outside café area where you can enjoy a cafe con leche and  mingle with this chic, international crowd.

Carola Segnini Director of TALK English Schools – Miami

We spoke to the Director of TALK Miami, Carola Segnini, about the school and the role she and her staff have played in making it a favorite for our TALK English Schools ESL students:

“I’ve been working at Talk English Schools since Talk Miami school opened in May 2009 and I’ve been the School Director for 17 months.”

A modern language graduate, Carola also worked for 18 years in human resources, so she was ideally qualified to manage the school operations, be responsive to the students’ needs, and create an enthusiastic and professional team of administrative staff and teachers.

She continues, “I lead a team of 16 professionals.  Valeria Quatrini – Assistant Director and 15 Part-Time Instructors.  Valeria, as a good Italian, is very passionate about her job and the service she offers to our students, teachers and clients.

“Our teachers are fantastic, very professional and patient.  Their classes are fun and challenging with the integration of the interactive technology.  They are all culturally aware, and it stands out in the way they interact with their different groups and also the way each one involve students of different nationalities in diverse cultural activities.

“Our International Food Fests and Halloween parties are really fun.  Students enjoy cooking specialties from their home countries, and wearing original costumes!”

TALK English Schools – Miami does indeed attract a big mix of nationalities, reflecting the diversity of Miami itself: Venezuelan and Brazilian students are predominant, but many come from Colombia, Spain, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Italy, Ukraine, France, Angola, Belgium, and Russia among others.

Vanessa Dos Santos, a student from Venezuela, loves the diversity amongst students, plus, she adds, “There are other schools around the area but the difference is that TALK offers an excellent school environment; the relationship between teachers and students is fantastic Prices are accessible and we get high quality education, it is not easy to find both at the same time.”

Carola feels very proud of the TALK Miami, about how it has grown and become a place where the students feel at home and at the same time inspired to learn. Plus, outside of the classroom, they have access to so many cultural activities the school and this melting pot that is Miami offers them.
