There are some fundamental rules to crafting and writing a resume to stand out.

Do not stuff you resume with unnecessary information or tech gimmicks such as  clip art, GIFS,  photos or many colors.

Make sure any files you attach can be downloaded without a problem.

Keep your resume to one page.  if there is a lot of valuable information that you think is necessary to provide, then go onto a second page, but no more.

Write in a clear, concise, grammatically correct way, which will convey a professional tone. Check grammar and spelling before you send your resume.  Mis-spelling is a huge no-no for the job recruiter, especially with functions like spell-check.  Wrong spelling is just bad in itself, it also shows an sloppy attitutude.

Do not misrepresent achievements or anything about yourself.

Provide references and contact details.

Do not talk about your goals or passions, but rather about what you think you can contribute to the company.
