Build Vocabulary Words – Read a Book

When you read a book, you are building your vocabulary in a pleasurable way. Vocabulary enables better communication. The size of your vocabulary also makes comprehension of reading material a lot easier. Vocabulary is very important, and for an English language learner, there are many ways – some very simple and fun, to increase the size of your vocabulary.

Besides studying your dictionary, the best way to increase your vocabulary is to read a book – or many books – voraciously.

Try to read one new book at regular intervals.  Read a book at a pace that works for you. Read the newspaper every morning, or read a few magazines that cover subjects you like.

Be consistent. Your vocabulary will improve and you’ll also find that you are more informed about all sorts of things including having an impressive general knowledge!

The important thing here is to read interesting books with good style and a rich vocabulary. Once you have an interesting book, you will find that you are unable to put the book down. When you read a book that is well written with a storyline that you like, you will want to know what every word means. Have a dictionary on hand. You will also remember words a lot better because when you read a book, this becomes a memorable pleasant interlude and experience!
