Aventura is a city just north of Miami.  Its gleaming modern high rise residences which line the ocean front and waterways inland give this new planned city an air of glamor and opulence.  The Aventura Mall, with many luxury brand shops, department stores, restaurants and AMC 24-screen theater, is the very popular anchor for this area and indeed attracts shoppers from all over South Florida.

Aventura is a community that has been settled in waves by nationalities from all over the world and you will hear Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Hebrew, French and many, many other languages spoken here by its new residents. Even though it has an air of sophistication, Aventura is a friendly city and both familiar with and welcoming to visitors.

Aventura has Everything!

Two major universities, Florida International University and Barry University are in or close to Aventura, so the city attracts a lot of students who live and have part-time jobs there. Good public transportation enables students to get around up and down the length of Miami, Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale by bus, as well as inland to the western suburbs and towns of South Florida.

Anywhere you live in Aventura is just minutes from the beach, and only 15 minutes away from South Beach. Once you have explored the Aventura Mall, take off to explore natural Aventura City.  There are a number of open spaces, beautiful parks and beaches and spas with swimming pools to enjoy the sunshine and escape the traffic and bustle that characterizes this north Miami city. Go cycling around or boat in the river at Oleta River State Park, take a dip in the ocean at North Miami Beach or go for a guided nature hike in the Anne Kolb Nature Centre.  For culture-vultures, the Museum of Contemporary Art is located in Aventura, and offers a lot of events and talks throughout the year, but especially in the high season from December to April.

Aventura is a great neighborhood to live in and to study in, as the thousands of  new residents from all over the world who have chosen this lovely city as their home would testify!
