Gratitude

In College Life, Health Wellness and Safety
the act of giving thanks

the act of giving thanks

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and that means that it’s time to give thanks for the multitude of blessings in our lives. We’re pretty good about showing gratitude for all the usual suspects–health, family, career–but sometimes we overlook all the little things that make life awesome.  The things for which we forget to show gratitude.  So we at TALK English Schools trolled the internet to discover both the expected and the unexpected – or maybe just under-appreciated – things that people are grateful for:

These deserve gratitude too!

Whatever you say, Ryan

Whatever you say, Ryan

Good hair days
At least one working parent
Laughter
Your nice old T-shirt
The sound of a dog eating kibble
Finding the most amazing blouse on the clearance rack and there’s only one and it’s your size
The existence of clementines
The smell of Japanese quince candles
Discovering new music and/or creating the World’s Most Perfect Playlist
Discovering the shade of lipstick that was basically made for you
Weekend getaways that leave you energized and inspired to start your work week
Inside jokes–the dumber, the better
Ryan Gosling. Always.
Toilet paper

Toothpaste: By the time the Founding Fathers of the U.S. were in their 70s and 80s (including Jefferson, Washington, Adams and Franklin), they were near or totally toothless. Enough said
Saliva – it’s nice when eating crackers
Opposable thumbs
Flashdrives/thumbdrives/portable hard drives
Pillows
Salt: There are over 14,000 uses for salt
Color. It beautifies life
Scissors: Ever try to get a pair of scissors out of its packaging without a pair of scissors (an Ellen DeGeneres joke)?
Paint: It beautifies, identifies, expresses, varies, and extends the life of whatever is painted
Libraries. A resource for growth and self-education, for imagination and creativity and information.
Anonymous acts of kindness: It reminds us there are people who are good for the sake of being good, for no external reward for their goodness
And thanks to gratitude itself …

From all of us at TALK English Schools
Happy Thanksgiving!
And thank you for being part of the TALK family!!!
