It’s that time again. Back to school classes here in Florida for students in both public and private schools as well as for most universities. Back to school also coincides with the beginning of the new football season.

Back to School means Football Season

Speaking of which, did you know that Nova Southeastern University is the official training camp for the Miami Dolphins? Practices are held in August during the morning hours when it’s a bit cooler (yeah, it’s only 88 degrees as opposed to the lower 90’s – not much of a difference). Anyway, practices can be viewed by the general public during certain times and are free of charge. So if you are a TALK student you might be able to watch one of the NFL’s best teams in person!

Besides the Dolphin’s training camp, Nova also has a state of the art library, which is the largest in all of Florida. The Alvin Sherman Library, Research and Information Technology Center stands five stories tall and has wireless internet access throughout with more than 1,000 seats and 22 study rooms. It even has an on-site café.

The library also hosts artwork by many well-known artists. One of the unique donations to the library is the prayer wheel which as blessed by the Dalai Lama himself during a visit to Nova in 2004. TALK students have full access to all of the perks the library has to offer.

TALK English School students can also enjoy taking part in a number of various activities which are held in the heart of the main campus at Nova Southeastern. Many of these activities take place in Nova’s impressive Student Center.

Here students can go to the university gym where there are classes in kickboxing, yoga, and spinning. There are basketball courts, racquetball and squash courts and an Olympic-size swimming pool. There is even a rock climbing wall for the more adventurous.

In addition, there are also restaurants and a cafeteria and even a Starbucks all located inside this massive edifice.

To sum up, there is always something to do at TALK  Fort Lauderdale on the Nova Southeastern University campus! Welcome back to school!
