The American Dream: A Nation Of Successful Dreamers
In the early days, the American dream came about with the settlement of poor immigrants and Americans who were searching for opportunities. The Declaration of Independence was the first place where the American dream manifested. It describes it as the attitude of hope. It states that “all man are created equal and that they are endowed with certain unalienable rights, among which are life, liberty and pursuit of happiness”.
The movie the Great Gatsby also showed the American dream as a big role behind the motivation of the movie. During the 1920s you can see what happened and how it has thrived today. Back then the values of people have changed. Instead of looking towards equality, everyone wanted to be as rich as they possibly could.
These days though the American dream has transformed itself in many ways. It now works on striving to provide equal opportunity to all Americans so that everyone can achieve their goals and highest aspirations. It doesn’t discriminate against anyone. It is believed that no matter who you are or where you were born you can find and create success for yourself in many ways. In many ways the American dream is also achieved by sacrificing something in your life. You have to give something to get something. You will also find that you have to work hard and take risks to ultimately succeed in your life. You don’t just come by it by chance. In America both American immigrants and native born Americans can all achieve the American dream. It allows you to go beyond the need to achieve personal fulfilment and self-actualization.
For anyone who is looking to travel or live in the USA, you too can also experience the American dream and strive towards something that you want to succeed in, in your life and throughout the rest of your future.
